Production of Vegetables, Fruits and Spices

To produce and sell quality and safe vegetables, fruits and spices farmed in a growing environment with free and minimized to chemical residues and microbes. The horticultural crops to be produced are tomato, onion, carrots, watermelon, sweet pepper, papaya, passion, banana, ginger, garlic and herbs.

Consultation on Horticulture Farming

To provide consultation on horticulture farming including but not limited to training stakeholders, farm visit, assessment of production area, farm layouts, seed selection, drip irrigation systems installation for horticultural crops, cultural management, post-harvest handlings, market linkage and promotion of horticultural produces.

Partnerships on Training Farmers and Linkage to Markets

To collaborate with horticulture stakeholders on training farmers and linking them to agricultural products market will be one of our services. Our production center will be set in a demonstration plot model where stakeholders and farmers will be trained on the food system and value chain of horticulture farming in Tanzania.

Reserch and Data Collection

At HONE we conduct research on solving the arising challenges in horticulture farming. These researches include cultural practices such as fertilizers and pesticides application, pests and diseases control, seed performance, organic and conservational agriculture, food systems and climate change, Climate Smart Agriculture and Environment.
